Quick answer

What can JapanProxies be used for?

JapanProxies residential IPs in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong may be used for lawful work that respects the sites you visit: search result checks, ad verification, public price checks, localization testing and privacy. Fraud, spam, attacks, unauthorized access and collecting personal data without a legal basis are forbidden. Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587 are blocked for everyone. No KYC does not mean no rules.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to every account, sub-user and connection on JapanProxies, operated by ProxyGoat LLC. You are responsible for all traffic sent with your credentials, including by people or programs you let use them.

2. Allowed uses

You may use JapanProxies for lawful purposes such as:

  • checking search results, ads and local listings as people in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong see them;
  • verifying your own or your clients' advertising campaigns and landing pages, and protecting your brand;
  • checking public prices, stock and delivery information on shopping and price-comparison sites, within their terms;
  • testing the localization of your own websites, apps and services;
  • research on publicly available information, at a pace the site can bear;
  • protecting your own privacy while browsing.

3. Forbidden uses

You must not use JapanProxies to:

  1. commit or prepare fraud, including payment fraud, identity theft, phishing and scams;
  2. send spam or unsolicited messages by any channel;
  3. attack, disrupt or overload any system, including denial-of-service attacks and vulnerability scanning without the owner's written permission;
  4. access any account, system or data without authorization, use credentials that are not yours, or test stolen credentials;
  5. sign in to services on behalf of other people, or create or operate identities on a platform in breach of its rules;
  6. collect personal information without a legal basis under the law that applies, including APPI in Japan, PIPA in South Korea, the PDPA in Taiwan and the PDPO in Hong Kong;
  7. automatically buy tickets, limited stock or reservations, or abuse promotions, bonuses, referrals or reviews;
  8. generate fake clicks, impressions, views or other traffic for advertising or ranking;
  9. distribute malware, illegal content or content that infringes intellectual property;
  10. reach content or services that the law of your location prohibits, or help others do so;
  11. get around a block, ban or access decision that a site has made on purpose, or this policy's own blocks;
  12. pretend to be located in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong to obtain work, contracts or payments, for example as a remote employee, freelancer or contractor, or hide a worker's real location from an employer or client;
  13. resell access to JapanProxies without our written agreement.

4. Blocked targets

These targets are blocked at the gateway for every customer, on every product: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. You must not try to get around these blocks. We may add categories to protect our partner networks, customers or third parties.

5. Excluded places

The service must not be used from mainland China, North Korea, or countries and regions under comprehensive sanctions, nor for the benefit of sanctioned persons. JapanProxies sells exit IPs in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong only.

We may refuse or close accounts and payments linked to these places or persons.

6. Respect for sites and their rules

Follow the terms of the sites you visit, honour robots.txt, keep a reasonable pace, and use official APIs where a site offers them. A residential IP does not give you a right that a site has not given. If a site restricts access for a region or for automated tools, that decision applies to you.

7. Enforcement

We review abuse reports and unusual traffic. Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. Depending on the case, we may warn you, limit traffic, suspend or close the account, and, where the law requires it, answer orders from authorities with the limited data we hold (see the privacy policy). Accounts closed for abuse receive no refund.

8. Reporting abuse

Report abuse from a JapanProxies IP to [email protected] with the IP address, the date and time with the time zone, the target, and log lines if you have them. The contact page explains what helps us act quickly.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version; important changes are listed in the changelog.
